Three Formats Proposed, One Killed
Cozy POV — the noodle as a moment: a 1am study break, a rainy evening, a craving after the gym. Hack & Recipe Tutorial — the noodle as a project: upgrades and viral recipe hacks, shot hands-on. Produced UGC — the polished version of the same ideas. The client picked the first two and rejected the third on sight: too clean, too staged, the opposite of what makes UGC work. Every video after that followed one rule — if it looks produced, it's wrong.
Cozy POV
The noodle as a moment: 1am study breaks, rainy evenings, intimate cravings. Raw, locked-camera handheld feeling.
Hack & Recipe Tutorial
The noodle as a project: upgrades and viral hacks shot hands-on with satisfying tactile sound design.
Produced UGC
Polished commercial look: rejected because it felt too clean and staged — the antithesis of believable social UGC.
Cozy POV — The Noodle as a Moment
Each Cozy POV video is a multi-shot sequence inside one locked environment — same desk, same light, same angle across every clip — stitched with hard cuts so it plays like one person's real phone video. The food does the acting: steam rising, a chopstick twirl, an egg cracked into hot broth.
Hack & Recipe — The Noodle as a Project
The recipe format was the one the client doubted AI could produce at all. The trick was working around what the generator cannot do: no pouring liquids, no fluid simulation. Instead — discrete placement actions (a cheese slice laid down, a butter cube dropped, chili flakes scattered) and static "impossible moment" framing. The Shin Ramyun wordmark was never baked into a scene; it was added in post, on the final frame only, so it stays perfectly sharp.
The Production Rules
Lock the room.
Every video holds one environment constant across 7–9 short clips — same camera angle, same lighting, same desk or counter. Hard cuts in post do the rest. It is what makes generated footage read as one person's real video.
Sound does the craving.
The audio is layered like a real creator's: packet crinkle, powder scatter, broth bubbling, chopsticks scraping the bowl — close and dry, over quiet lo-fi beats. Captions sit in the upper third, added in post, built to hook inside the first 1.5 seconds.
Made to travel.
No slang, no local references, no language but English in the text and voice-over. A viewer in the US, Europe or Southeast Asia should feel the video was made in their own kitchen.
From Videos to a System
The last deliverable was not a video. I wrote the step-by-step Creator Guide for Nongshim Global's own creators: both formats broken down shot by shot, with the production rules and editing instructions, so the client's team could keep producing these videos without me. A format is worth more than a batch of files.
Nongshim Global Creator Playbook
A comprehensive step-by-step production handbook delivered directly to client teams, detailing shot breakdowns, camera locks, audio layering, and editing blueprints.
